Position Overview:
This position encompasses leadership over multiple functional areas including Enterprise Systems Administration & Storage, Endpoint Configuration Management, MECM, VR/Patching, and platform-specific (Windows, Linux, MAC) systems administration. The Systems Administration & Endpoint Functional Manager is responsible for directing staff, managing projects, and ensuring systems align with long-term operational and security requirements. The role supports ARLEN and CARLEN networks and interfaces with leadership to address requirements, risks, and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and oversee all system administration functions across multiple platforms and technologies.
Assign and supervise personnel on various IT systems administration projects.
Ensure installation, configuration, maintenance, and integrity of enterprise systems.
Implement system upgrades and enhancements to improve performance and reliability.
Coordinate endpoint configuration and MECM management across organizational networks.
Lead local quality control and performance management for ARLEN and CARLEN computing environments.
Support patch management, vulnerability remediation (VR), and backup and restore operations.
Ensure compliance with STIGs, DoD IT security policies, and operational standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve advanced systems administration issues in complex environments.
Technical Skills and Knowledge:
Strong leadership experience in managing large systems administration teams and projects.
Expertise with Windows Server, MECM, RHEL, RedHat Enterprise Virtualization Hypervisor, KVM, and Puppet.
Advanced scripting skills using PowerShell and automation tools.
Experience with WSUS, patching, vulnerability management, and compliance frameworks.
Familiarity with MAC OS and Linux systems administration (including backup and restore operations).
