Senior Network Engineer
Clearance Required: Secret Clearance
Locations: Adelphi, MD (Onsite)
Position Overview:
The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the acquisition, installation, maintenance, and optimization of local area networks (LAN) across various sites. The roles include evaluating contractor products, implementing and managing network infrastructure, enforcing security procedures, and maintaining compliance with organizational policies. These positions also involve user training, network software installation, and telecommunications system support, with an emphasis on secure and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the acquisition, installation, and maintenance of network hardware and software.
Evaluate vendor products for compatibility and recommend solutions to meet company needs.
Manage and monitor network performance, ensuring reliable connectivity and throughput.
Implement and enforce network security procedures and standards.
Install and support network software and telecommunication systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues.
Develop and implement network policies and procedures aligned with IT and organizational goals.
Provide end-user training on network operations.
Install, configure, and troubleshoot Layer 2/3 switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points, and encryption devices.
Configure and manage routing protocols including OSPF and BGP.
Work with technologies related to 802.1x, 802.11, MAC bridging, and encryption/encoding standards.
Support IPSEC, IPV4, and IPV6 network configurations and troubleshooting.
Required Qualifications:
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years in network administration or engineering roles
• Education: master's degree or bachelor's degree with an additional 2 years of experience
• Certifications (Required):
CompTIA Network+ CE
CCNP or equivalent certifications
Must meet DoD 8750 and 8140 compliance requirements
